Meet Chris (Head of IT Strategy and Enterprise Architecture)

There is a huge appetite and enthusiasm from the top down to improve the business, with the recognition that Group IT is a key part of that success. The ambitious strategy is driving change at pace. No part of IT is untouched. We are implementing at scale global data lake technologies, supply chain and integrated global planning solutions along with secure global collaboration and productivity technologies to support truly diverse global teams and ways of working together regardless of location. It’s a chance to have a direct personal input and make a difference.

It’s not unusual to be working collaboratively with many different parts of the business at the same time, solving the same problems together. If you like big challenges, then as a large, global organisation there are few bigger opportunities than Imperial.

Meet Claire (Head of Global Service Control)

Imperial is a truly global organisation. You get to work with colleagues across the globe on a daily basis. I made a deliberate decision to move from my previous comfort zone into a large manufacturing organisation, as I find the complexities of a truly global, truly 24×7 organisation are both challenging and exciting. And as Imperial is a constantly changing and evolving business, you most definitely do not have time to become bored!

Meet Maria (Head of IT Europe)

Our company is in the middle of a huge transformation. We are transforming the IT organisation and the IT ways of working by creating a truly global IT function. We are upskilling people capabilities, data and digital capabilities, designing a future-proof enterprise architecture model, investing in security programs, and focusing on standardisation. To be able to be part of that change, driving it and learning from it, is an excellent opportunity for any professional who embraces change and is keen to develop professionally.

Those kind of development opportunities are one of the big reasons to come to work in Imperial. There’s also the lateral movements between departments or locations which help you to acquire broader skills, both professionally and personally. For example, I was working in Supply Chain, in Transformation Strategy and now in IT.  For professionals who love change, Imperial offers fantastic prospects.

Our strategies for the digital workplace have taken a quantum leap when it comes to implementation and adoption, and IT Engineering is front and centre. We’re unlocking technology, implementing innovations, managing the global infrastructure and the technology engine in order to support continuous improvements and help the business achieve its goals.
